thistlerose: (Star Trek: lovely new Kirk)
Title: Straight On 'Til Morning
Fandom: Star Trek Reboot
Word count: 2,300
Rating: All ages
Character(s): Jim Kirk, Winona Kirk
Notes: Written for [ profile] st_respect's Trekstock Prompt #1. Many, many thanks to [ profile] lauriegilbert for beta reading, and to [ profile] sail_aweigh for the lovely banner! This story contains major spoilers for Star Trek Into Darkness.

Also available on AO3

Summary: When Jim was seven, his mother read Peter Pan to him. He enjoyed the book - especially the pirates - but one part would haunt him for the rest of his life.

He could probably have read it just fine on his own. )
thistlerose: (Star Trek: Uhura)
Title: If You're On Fire, Show Me
Fandom: Star Trek Reboot
Word count: 2,800
Rating: Explicit
Pairing(s): Kirk/McCoy/Uhura, background Kirk/McCoy and Spock/Uhura
Contains: (highlight to reveal) Oral sex, masturbation, finger fucking, hand jobs, rimming (without penetration). Also, I made a conscious choice not to mention contraception. It's fantasy and it's the future; assume they're all up-to-date on their hypos.
Notes: For [ profile] rubynye, who has waited patiently (for two years!) for her promised [ profile] help_japan fic. I hope it's worth the wait. ♥ Many, many thanks to [ profile] sail_aweigh for beta reading. Also on AO3.

Summary: Kirk and McCoy and Uhura have a threesome!

Before tonight, Nyota could not have guessed that any power in the galaxy could render Leonard McCoy completely mute. )
thistlerose: (Star Trek: lovely new Kirk)
Title: Vashti
Fandom: Star Trek: AOS
Rating: all ages
Characters: Jim & Gaila (I wrote this with the idea that they were friends, but you can read this as pre-something or even mid-something)
Notes: A [ profile] purimgifts treat for [ profile] sansets. I didn't have time to give this idea the full exploration it deserves. I came up with this story approximately an hour before deadline, and finished it with three minutes to spare!
Summary: Jim starts to tell Gaila about Purim. One character in particular captures her attention. 366 words.

Gaila wanted to know the story of Purim... )
thistlerose: (Star Trek: Uhura)
Title: I Get That Line All the Time
Fandom: Star Trek: AOS / Star Trek: First Contact
Rating: All ages
Pairing(s): Uhura/Lily Sloane, Kirk
Notes: Written for Remix Madness 2011. Based on One Drink by [ profile] cosmic_llin. 1,735 words.
More notes: This remix was so much fun to write. The Lily/Nyota dialog is pretty much word-for-word what it was in the original. I brought Kirk in because I wondered why he would have told Nyota to flirt with Lily. I mean, I'm sure he would have been happy to have done the honors! Also, it gave me an excuse to write some Jim/Nyota dialog. I've been having a lot of fun with their banter lately. In Reboot, I'm really starting to like the idea that she could be his foil.

Summary: Stuck in the past, Nyota Uhura can't pass up the chance to flirt with one of her childhood idols.

Uhura groans. 'We’re going to create another alternate time line, one that will destroy Federation history as we know it.' )

This week [ profile] bridge2sickbay did a prompt bingo. It's still going on, and it's fun but I am written out for the evening, I think. So here's what I came up with.

Gaila/Kirk: pegging | Adult | 177 words
She wasn't sure she'd like it much... )

George(/Winona): blindfold | Teen (for implied violence and off-screen OC death) | 359 words
When they slide open the door to his cell, George is ready. )

Uhura(&Kirk, or unrequited!Kirk/Uhura): crash | all ages | 266 words
It’s nearly 2400 when Jim spots Uhura slumped over a desk in the library... )
thistlerose: (seasonal: winter)
I wrote six total, but I think I'm going to post the longer ones separately so my tags don't get too cluttered.

Title: Very Civilized
Fandom: Firefly
Rating: teen
Pairing(s): Simon/Kaylee
Notes: Written for [ profile] winslow_arizona. 710 words.

He'd gotten pretty good at begging over the past couple of years. )

Title: Customs Old And New
Fandom: Voltron
Rating: all ages
Pairing(s): Sven/Romelle

Title: SNAFU
Fandom: Star Trek AOS
Rating: all ages
Characters: Rand, Kirk
Notes: For [ profile] medie. 630 words.

Janice Rand was feeling pretty good about herself and their chances of surviving the night... )

Title: Unpathed Waters, Undreamed Shores
Fandom: Star Trek TOS (or AOS)
Rating: all ages
Characters: McCoy, Spock
Notes: For [ profile] loneraven. This was meant to be AOS, but I kept hearing Kelley and Nimoy as I wrote the dialog. Works either way. 715 words.

Summary: An exchange of gifts.

McCoy looked up when Spock entered his office. )
thistlerose: (Star Trek)
Title: A Sensible Alternative
Fandom: Star Trek AOS
Rating: teen (language)
Characters: Kirk, McCoy (could be strictly gen or pre-K/M), with past McCoy/Jocelyn
Notes: This was written at the instigation of one [ profile] lauriegilbert, who also beta read. Inspired (somewhat) by the Colbert/Stewart duet, "Can I Interest You In Chanukah?" 3,130 words.

Summary: The first Christmas after his divorce and his father's death, McCoy just can't get into the holiday spirit. Kirk offers him an alternative.

Leonard spotted Jim while he still a good way off, quickly pivoted on his heel, and started walking as fast as he could in the opposite direction. )
thistlerose: (Star Trek: Kirk (omg lips))
Title: Left Alone To Wander
Fandom: Star Trek AOS
Rating: teen
Characters: Sam, Winona, and Jim Kirk
Contains: (highlight to reveal) Verbal abuse of a minor; threatened violence toward a minor; off-screen OC death; allusions to violence; teenage drinking and non-explicit making out; language.
Notes: Many thanks to [ profile] old_blueeyes and [ profile] lauriegilbert for beta reading. 10,300 words.

Summary: Five times Sam Kirk hated his stupid baby brother's guts, and one time he realized that he didn’t.

In Sam Kirk’s mind, his daddy was always a hero... )
thistlerose: (Star Trek: Kirk (omg eyes))
Title: Consumed
Fandom: Star Trek AOS
Rating: Adult

Contains: disturbing stuff (highlight to reveal) a lethal, mind-controlling parasite manipulates Jim into believing he's pregnant; involuntary (due to mind control) termination of said imagined pregnancy, including graphic description of surgery
Notes: Many thanks to [ profile] boosette and [ profile] igrockspock for bravely beta reading this horror story of mine. Also thank you to [ profile] rubynye for medical consultation. 5,300 words. For [ profile] hc_bingo (prompt: mpreg - difficult pregnancy). The song “Jimmy mo mhíle stór” is, as far as I can determine, of unknown authorship. (I recommend the Frances Black version.)
More notes: here (with many spoilers)

Summary: He wishes he could share it, this joy, this knowledge that he isn't alone anymore.

They wouldn't understand, though. If they knew, they'd try to take it away from him. )
thistlerose: (starrystarry sky)
You Certainly Have a Way With People

Fandom: Star Trek AOS
Ship: Kirk/Gaila
Rating: Adult (see warnings)
Summary: They never get to be alone. Roommates coming home early, angry future Romulans, Klingons looking to pick a fight with the legendary Captain Kirk - it's always something.
A/N: Written for [profile] het_idcrack. The prompt was "Gaila rescues Kirk from Klingons. Bonus points if this involves a fistfight, and double bonus points if Gaila uses a bat'leth." Many, many thanks to [personal profile] janice_lester, [personal profile] igrockspock, and [profile] f_vikus for taking the time to look this over. 4,000 words.
Warnings: Language, violence, threatened/attempted rape (averted).

'I hardly ever get you alone anymore. You think I’m going to let a couple of Klingons get in my way? I’m getting you that drink I promised. You’re going to wear that dress you’ve been teasing me about.' )
thistlerose: (starrystarry sky)
Darkness Always Gets There First

Fandom: Star Trek AOS
Rating: teen
Characters: Winona, Jim (background Winona/George, Winona/Frank)
Summary: Winona Kirk wants revenge. Life keeps getting in the way.
A/N: Inspired by a drabble-thon prompt posted to [ profile] where_no_woman a few months ago. At 4,200 words, this is clearly not a drabble and it's way, way late. Many thanks to [ profile] lauriegilbert for beta reading.

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. – Terry Pratchett

She was going to find the Romulan bastard who’d killed her husband and her captain, and she was going to destroy him. )

And Neither Have I Wings To Fly

Fandom: Star Trek AOS / Firefly crossover
Rating: teen, for allusions to torture
Ship: was supposed to be Jim/Mal, but ended up more Jim/Enterprise and Mal/Serenity
Summary: This isn’t Heaven. It’s just someplace his mind went to keep itself safe while the rest of him splinters and bleeds.
A/N: 790 words. This is a slightly longer, cleaned up version of the ficlet I wrote for [ profile] 1297's drabble-thon the other day.

This can't be Heaven. )
thistlerose: (Star Trek)
I wrote these for [ profile] bridge2sickbay this afternoon. The theme was household items. They're all pretty tame, though the implications in the first one are fairly obvious. *g*

The more I think about it, the more I think I'd like to try my hand at a full-length McCoy/Uhura story someday. Someday.

McCoy/Kirk - toothbrush - 222 words )

Kirk, Uhura - ladder - 110 words )

McCoy/Uhura - houseplants - 97 words )
