Home sick for the fourth day in a row, which means I've caught up on some TV. (Can't seem to focus on my book.)

I watched Captain America: Civil War. But the problem I have with this movie is the same I have with almost every Epic Crossover Event: there's too much fast-paced action, too much "Oh, it's you! I've always wanted to meet you!" and not enough plot or character development. And I have to say, while the Accords weren't perfect, something needed to be in place. So, much to my surprise, I found myself leaning Team Tony.

T'challa was pretty awesome, though. And I read the first TPB of Black Panther over the break, so now I'm kind of excited about his movie.

I also watched all of The Man in the High Castle on Amazon Prime. It was interesting and distracting, and I always like Rufus Sewell, even when he's playing a totally evil guy, but I couldn't help wondering... What happened to all the minorities? Okay, there's a passing reference in one episode to some lynch mobs targeting Jews in Boston, but ... seriously, that's it? It was that easy? And what about all the people of color? And the LGBTQ people? What about all the Chinese and Korean Americans, especially the ones living in the Pacific states? People just turned over their neighbors? Okay, I can see some people doing that, but everyone?

There's like one recurring Black character and one recurring Jewish character, and the latter appears to have been killed off. Great.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'll watch S3 when it comes out, but if all the supposed good guys (or their parents, anyway) turned their backs on their neighbors and allowed mass genocide to happen*, do I care if they all get nuked?

* Yeah, there's a Resistance, but they don't seem to be doing very much.
